About Me
I am a graduate of the UCLA School of Theatre, Film, and Television MFA Costume Design Program. Before moving to LA I was working as freelance costume designer, design assistant, manager, and stitcher/craftsperson in the Washington DC area. I studied Linguistics and German Language/Literature at Georgetown University in Washington DC. Even though I did not study theatre I participated heavily in theatre extracurricularly. I had the opportunity to design costumes or lights for several theatre and dance productions, and served as the elected Executive Producer of a student run theatre company committed to producing bold, challenging, and socially conscious work. Upon graduation I started two years of fellowship at Arena Stage, a top ten LORT theatre in Washington DC. I spent my first year in Company Management and my second year in the Costume Shop, where I got to work with incredibly talented and well regarded designers, drapers, managers and craftspeople. After my fellowships ended I began freelancing locally. I worked frequently at Signature Theatre as a design assistant, where I had the chance to assist on their award winning production of Dreamgirls, as well as several other large musicals. I also worked as a stitcher and craftsperson for three shows at the Washington National Opera. During this time I continued to seek out interesting projects to design, some of my favorite projects include my work with the Washington Source New Play festival and Rorschach Theatre, where I am a company member emeritus. After a few years in the working world I decided it was time to complete my education in the art of theatre and costuming, which is what brought me to UCLA and Los Angeles. During my time at UCLA I designed several play and short films, and also TA'd for costume lab classes and lectures, worked in the costume shop, and interned with professional theater and opera designers. Upon graduation I began working as a Costume Department Production Assistant in the television industry for shows including Scandal, For the People, and Shameless. In 2019 I joined Motion Picture Costumers IATSE Local 705 as a Women's Finish Costumer, since then I have had the opportunity to hold a staff position on major shows including Hulu's Little Fires Everywhere and TNT's Animal Kingdom Seasons 5 and 6. In 2021 I joined IATSE Local 892 the Costume Designers Guild as an Assistant Costume Designer. Throughout my time working in television I have also found opportunities to continue designer other projects, including several short films and in 2022 my first feature, The Snare, coming soon. I am continuing to pursue non-union design opportunities.
